Frequently Asked Questions

What is home visiting? How does it work?

Home visiting means a trained helper comes to your home (or another place you choose) to help you get ready for your baby. They also help you after your baby is born.

To start, call or email a Connect coordinator in your area or fill out the form on our website. The coordinator will help match you with the best helper for your family. After that, your home visitor will set up your first visit and make a plan for future visits.

Who can get a home visitor?

Any family who is expecting a baby can ask for a home visitor. Some programs are for special situations. The Connect coordinator will help you find the one that fits your family best.

How much does it cost?

Home visiting is free! The program is paid for by the state and federal government. Some programs may ask a few more questions to see if you qualify, but there is no cost to you.
