When you call or email your local Connect coordinator, we’ll ask a few questions to learn what you need. Then, we’ll tell you about different home visiting programs. You get to pick the one that fits you best.
If You Just Want To Check It Out
That’s okay! You can call or visit your local coalition just to ask questions. You don’t have to sign up right away.
After You Sign Up
Once you join, your home visitor will contact you to set up a time and place to meet. They will work with your schedule and come when it’s best for you.
What Does The Home Visitor Do?
They will:
- Help you find other services and support
- Talk with you one-on-one
- Bring easy-to-understand info about pregnancy, birth, and parenting
Help With More Than Pregnancy And Parenting
Home visitors can also help with:
- Going back to school
- Getting a job
- Finding safe housing or transportation
- Talking to someone about your feelings or mental health
They care about you as a parent—and as a person.
What If I Change My Mind?
That’s okay. Home visiting is your choice. You can stop anytime for any reason. Most families feel nervous at first but are glad they joined once they meet their home visitor.
